The "Technical Measure" of hard water

Technical Measure - Water hardness is measured either in grains per gallon (GPG) or as calcium hardness in milligrams per liter (mg/l) or parts per million (ppm). GPG is based on calcium hardness. To convert from calcium hardness ppm, just divide by a factor of 17.2 and this gives you hardness in GPG.

Hard Water and Your Well

"Can the InjectaFLO system help with my well water?"

A NewFresh Water system can certainly help improve the quality of your well water.
Most ground water has imbalanced pH and contains significant levels of calcium and magnesium, as
well as iron and manganese.

While the minerals in the water are good for your health, they wreak havoc on your pipes, fixtures, and appliances and cleaning efforts. Imbalanced pH can cause pipe
corrosion and metal leaching into your water.

Water Wells and bacteria? Tell me more!

Some water wells contain significant levels of iron bacteria and or hydrogen sulfide, manganese, coli
form bacteria, Iron, algae... in addition to the hard minerals that can be present. There are various
technologies that can remove those unpleasant elements and kill bacteria by treating prior to
hardness softening. These systems typically require water analysis and a design based on the water
content. Note - well water may change over time and problems may disappear or appear with
variations in water levels.

Hard Water in the Laundry

Clothes washed in hard water often look dingy, feel harsh, and scratchy. The hardness
minerals combine with some soils to form insoluble salts, making them difficult to remove.
Continuous laundering in hard water can damage fibers and shorten the life of clothes by up to
40 percent.

Hard Water on You!

Bathing with soap in hard water leaves a film of sticky soap curd on the skin. The film may
prevent removal of soil and bacteria. Soap curd interferes with the return of skin to its normal,
slightly acid condition, and may lead to irritation. Soap curd on hair may make it dull, lifeless
and difficult to manage.
